Neon splash

I've been meaning to try and do some digital painting (which I've never really been that good at). I thought I'd give it a go and one night I got sucked into a time vortex and did this. Of course I went with what I know, so this is another self-portrait (yes it's a bit narcissistic but some of the greatest artists were too :P ).

I used a reference photo of myself to do this, and also decided to draw on the colour scheme of a photo I found very interesting. Here's the reference photo for the colour (left), and the result. It's still a bit of a WIP, though I'm not sure where to go from here - open to critique!! Overall I'm pretty with what I've done on it so far.

Profile

New sketchbook, new self-portrait. Here's my first one in profile!

Beaker

New sketchbook which means new self-portrait! This is my best impression of a muppet.

Les Mis

Anne Hathaway in the trailer for Les Mis. I originally wanted to draw her portraying Selina Kyle but I couldn't find any decent images to reference. This was a great substitute though!

Jackie

After starting season 4 of Nurse Jackie I really wanted to draw Edie Falco with any of the incredibly emotive and complex emotions she portrays. This didn't turn out so well, but I may retry it again later. Still posting it thought, even if it's just for tracking my progress!

Zoey

Finally started watching Nurse Jackie season 4 and forgot how hilarious Zoey is.

Mother of Dragons

Not my best work (especially the wonky eyes) but this is Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones (played by Emilia Clarke).

Reflection

Another self-portrait... I've decided I'm going to do one per sketchbook now (I'm onto my 4th A4 one since this new wave of drawing).

"I'm broken"

Deb from Dexter, when she has a complete breakdown after the death of her boyfriend. This scene was acted incredibly by Jennifer Carpenter, and there were so many frames to choose from for this image. I'm quite keen to animate to that piece of dialogue in the near future.

"Cut Off"

Image from V for Vendetta; the scene where Natalie Portman has her head shaven. Really intense emotion I wanted to try my hand at. Pretty happy with the result.

"No, I'm not"

"I'm okay. No, I'm not"
- Michael Scott

Great subtle moment in The Office. Again. This is the second Michael Scott portrait I attempted; the first was so terrible I'm not going to post it.

Angelina

Angelina Jolie crying.

Abed

Abed from Community... interesting expression though it's not quite the same as the original, which was less menacing. Mouth is a tad too wide methinks.

"Twenty One"

ANOTHER self portrait (okay this is the last one for real - planning to not do any more for a while).
